KCC&I Concerned over “harassment” of businessmen by investigating agencies | KNO

The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry has expressed over concern over the “reports of discriminatory harassment” to businessmen, a statement issued here said. The statement referred to an Emergency Executive Committee Meeting on September 23, 2017, in which the reports were discussed and the concern expressed.

The Kashmir Chamber was of the considered view that persons of interest to the investigating agencies were being subjected to harassment by questionable methods of investigation,” the statement said. “The investigation agencies had turned the principle of Presumption of Innocence until proved Guilty on it’s head by treating all persons of interest in this manner.”

Though the statement made no references but it came on the eve of a Kashmir wide strike that Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Association (KTMA) is sponsoring on Monday, September 25. The retailers association has taken a strong exception to the summoning of Yasin Khan, its president by the NIA to Delhi
